Foam Booster / Controller

Foam is a dispersion of gas in a liquid, stabilized by a surfactant. This complex fluid plays a crucial role across various stages of hydrocarbon exploration and production. Foam is a highly desired smart solution and is created deliberately in oil and gas processes including drilling, cementing, acid stimulation, fracturing, near-well and in-depth mobility control. Nevertheless, foam can be detrimental – for instance, when gas break out from crude oil in separators, or bubbles nucleate and grow in water due to chemical reactions, deaeration or stripping. The physical properties underlying foam applications include particle-carrying capacity, fluid density reduction and fluid mobility reduction.

Dew foaming agents are suitable for air or gas drilling through water-bearing formations and in any situations where the generation of large volumes of stable foam is required. Dew range of products is suited for the underbalanced drilling technique and in zones of extreme loss of circulation.

Dew foam controller range is suitable for the control of foaming to cope with all the situations ranging from drilling & completion to brine or cementing applications. We offer a full range of liquid products based on silicone, fatty alcohols or alkylene oxides derivatives.

Foaming phenomena occur virtually at every stage in the oil and gas industry. In most cases, these are troublesome phenomena that need eliminating, and, where possible, prevent altogether.

The main drawbacks of foaming are as follows:

  • Need to shut down the plants
  • Drop in production capacity
  • Disruption of control equipment, hence the plants’ operation
  • Deterioration of the crude oil produced
  • Foaming mostly results from problems of turbulence in the circuits
  • Presence of surfactants and solid particles dispersed to a greater or lesser degree in the effluents

Dew products are designed to fight against or prevent foaming in hydrocarbon media, the most common example being in oil-gas separators.

We have developed original solutions to meet the various process requirements and constraints in deep water surface injection:

1. Batch and/or continuous injection
2. Concentrated or diluted solution
3. In aqueous medium and/or in solvent medium

Generally speaking, these products can be injected in a continuous regime, or, if required, pure or diluted in a suitable solvent.
